questions about chemicals, air fresheners in apt hallways?
I have severe allergic reactions to most things with fragrances. my apartment managers put glade plugins in the 2 hallways of my building(it is a small apt building) and they are making me sick, causes upper respitary probs. my question is...isn't the landlord or apartment managers duties to inform residents before they will be installing air fresheners etc...? I have heard of one case where a landlord put insecticide on the grounds of apt without notifying residents and it made one of the residents very sick and landlord was made to pay med bills for him because resident was not notified. i have been trying to research about air fresheners being installed, but cannot find anything. if anyone can help on this let me know. thanks.
Im not sure if air fresheners fall into the same category as pesticides, even though they can cause issues. I would suggest that you talk to your landlord before your lawyer... acting like adults tends to help these matters get settled smoothly. Ask them to take the fresheners down. If there odors that they are covering up, sugggest that they address that matter... this will be cheaper than med bills and more reasonable.
