Jar Candles

Does anyone know why some jar candles have "loose wax"? Does it affect the candle in any way?

I ask this b/c I have noticed that a few of my candles arrived brand new from various brands(Colonial, Village, Yankee, etc...) where the wax could be shaken up in the jar. Does that make any sense?

It's just another way of making candles. They actually use less wax this way because there's more airspace. The wax melts as you're burning the candles just the same way as solid candles.
